The Vincent Price Art Museum Foundation is seeking a Digital Communications Consultant to help communicate the work and impact of the Vincent Price Art Museum across digital platforms.
This part-time contract position (up to 12 hours per week) supports the Foundation’s digital communications program through three primary functions: (1) digital storytelling, (2) promotion of exhibitions, programs, and institutional initiatives, and (3) production of the Foundation’s monthly e-newsletter and related email communications.
Key Responsibilities
- Digital Storytelling
- Create and publish engaging social media content that tells the story of the Vincent Price Art Museum and Foundation, primarily on Instagram and Facebook
- Create photo, video, graphic, and written content, including captions, using approved messaging, captions, brand standards, and templates
- Write and edit copy for assigned digital communications, as needed
- Program & Institutional Promotion
- Create and distribute email announcements and promotional campaigns for exhibitions, public programs, events, and other institutional initiatives
- Maintain a content calendar for assigned communications to ensure timely and consistent publishing
- Monitor the performance of assigned communications and, in consultation with the Communications Consultant, recommend and implement adjustments to improve engagement and effectiveness
- Institutional Communications
- Produce and distribute the Foundation’s monthly e-newsletter
- Additional Support
- Support communications related to membership and development initiatives
- Support website updates, including uploading and refreshing content, as needed
- Collaborate with the Communications Consultant, Foundation and Museum staff, artists, curators, and other partners to execute approved communications plans
Qualifications
- Required
- At least 2 years of experience in digital communications, content creation, content writing, or a related role
- Demonstrated experience creating engaging social media content, including photo, video, graphic, and written content
- Excellent writing and editing skills in English
- Familiarity with social media platforms and their respective audiences
- Knowledge of contemporary art in Los Angeles and familiarity with VPAM’s audiences and communities
- Experience using Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar tools for graphic and visual content creation
- Experience creating and editing short-form video content for social media using Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar tools
- Experience interpreting social media and email engagement metrics and using them to improve content
- A passion for storytelling
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple assignments, and meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Preferred
- A degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- Spanish language skills are a plus
- Understanding of visual design principles and best practices
Compensation & Benefits
$30–$35 per hour, commensurate with experience, for up to 12 hours per week.
